A Poem
Blank. White. Empty.
Staring at a page so quiet I can hear my insecurities breathing on it.
Where to start?
Where to begin?
Because my mind is empty –
No, it’s crowded.
Overflowing.
Like driving down Highway 635 during rush hour.
Fast-paced, yet hardly even moving.
Endless thoughts in my mind, passing too quickly to become words.
Words convey power.
They break.
They build.
They heal.
Words turn silence into something seen.
But mine feel empty.
Just like this page.
Blank and white.
But maybe empty isn’t as hopeless as it feels right now.
My words don’t need to be perfect.
They just need to be honest.
One sentence.
One word.
One beginning.
Maybe this page isn’t empty at all.
Maybe it’s just waiting.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
